fate of embattled Pro- Tempore Isaac Nyenabo will today,
Tuesday March 17, 2009, be decided by members of the
Liberian Senate.
The move on Senator Nyenabo by some 25 senators follows
a categorical vote of no confidence expressed in a draft
resolution to him and to the entire leadership of the
Senate.
Last Thursday, about 23 senators presented a draft
resolution to the President of the Senate, Vice
President Joseph Boakai, in which they noted that they
no longer enjoyed the leadership of Pro-Temp Nyenabo
along with five other members of the Senate leadership.

Tension Brews in Gbarnga

Friday February 27, 2009, hundreds of fuming
demonstrators took to the streets of Gbarnga in protest
of the death of a motorcyclist, one Armah Jeahwulu. He
was reportedly killed by some unidentified individuals
on the abandoned farm of former president Charles Taylor
about two kilometers from Gbarnga. The demonstration
paralyzed normal school and business activities in the
city.

Warrant issued for Sudan's Leader

International Criminal Court has issued an arrest
warrant for Sudan's president on charges of war crimes
and crimes against humanity in Darfur.
But the ICC in The Hague stopped short of accusing Omar
al-Bashir of genocide. He denies the charges and has
dismissed any ruling by the court as worthless.
